The popularity of multigenerational households, where parents, children, and grandparents all live together under one roof, is a growing trend in the United States. A study by PEW Research found that in 2018, 20 percent of the U.S. population (64 million people!) were living in multigenerational homes. This is a significant increase from the 26.8 million people who lived this way in the 1960s.
