Planning to shop for Brighton homes for sale this spring? This is typically the busiest time of year for real estate across Livingston County, and diving into the data can help give you an edge whether you're buying or selling a home in the area. The start of spring brought more listings in 2026 than it did one year ago. There were 208 new residential listings in Livingston County in March 2026, up 16.2 percent from March 2025, when there were 179 new listings.
While the number of new listings was up for March, it's still down slightly for the year as a whole. Year-to-date, there have been 465 new listings in Livingston County through March 2026. That's a 1.5 percent decrease from one year ago, when there were 472 new listings through March 2025.
The average number of days homes spent on the market before sale was slightly higher in March 2026. Homes spent an average of 41 days on the market before sale in March 2026, a 10.8 percent increase from March 2025, when homes spent an average of 37 days on the market before sale.
Year-to-date through March 2026, homes have spent an average of 44 days on the market before sale. That's a 6.4 percent decrease compared to last year, when homes spent an average of 47 days on the market before sale through March 2025.
The median sales price and percent of list price received were both up in March 2026. The median sales price increased 1.6 percent, from $413,500 in March 2025 to $420,000 in March 2026. Percent of list price received was up 0.7 percent, from 100.2 percent in March 2025 to 100.9 percent in March 2026.
Year-to-date, the median sales price is down 0.5 percent, from $405,000 through March 2025 to $403,000 through March 2026. Percent of list price received was up 0.1 percent, from 99.6 percent through March 2025 to 99.7 percent through March 2026.
With 125 closed sales in March 2026, the number of units sold was down 15.0 percent from March 2025, when 147 units were sold. Year-to-date, the number of units sold is down 16.9 percent, from 384 units sold through March 2025 to 319 units sold through March 2026.
The inventory of homes for sale in Livingston County was up 9.6 percent, from 230 homes for sale in March 2025 to 252 homes for sale in March 2026. Months of supply increased by 7.1 percent, from 1.4 months in March 2025 to 1.5 months in March 2026.
