BBQ Month

From the mouthwatering smell to the unmistakable sizzle, there's no other food quite as tempting as barbecue. May is National BBQ Month, and our real estate agents think that's as good a reason as any to dig into a big plate of smoked meats and delicious sides. Join them at these great Livingston County barbecue restaurants to get some for yourself.

  • Beale St. Smokehouse BBQ - 1492 N Leroy Street, Fenton, MI 48430
Beale St. Smokehouse BBQ specializes in Southern-style Memphis barbecue, and they've got plenty of awards to prove they do it right. You can order their delectable meats by the pound, as part of an entree or combo platter, in a sandwich, or piled high on top of a base ingredient in a Fat Kid Bowl. Visit on a Friday or Saturday night to enjoy live blues music from local bands while you eat.

  • Smoke Street BBQ – 424 N Main Street, Milford, MI 48381
Smoke Street BBQ smokes all of their meats in-house using their custom-built smoker and a special blend of hickory and cherry wood. You can order their brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and ribs as standalone dishes, as part of a combo plate with another meat, or even on a pizza baked in their rustic brick oven. If you're thirsty, they've got a wide selection of craft beers and cocktails available at the bar.

  • Getty Up BBQ – 921 Hadden Avenue, Howell, MI 48843
Getty Up BBQ serves more than your typical barbecue fare. On top of staples like brisket and St. Louis ribs, they also offer signature goodies like their Apple Pie Chicken Thighs and Pork Belly Street Tacos. Treat yourself to an ooey-gooey s'mores cone for dessert, and you'll see why this spot has become such a hit with folks around town.

  • Hickory BBQ & Grill - 8639 Heathersett Drive, Brighton, MI 48114
Hickory BBQ & Grill is on a mission to bring finger-licking good barbecue to Brighton. Though they mainly operate as a catering service, they also run a food truck where you can get individual portions of the delicious ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and chicken that they serve for larger parties. Don't forget to save room for some of their famous Six Cheese Macaroni and Cheese!

  • The Smoke Doctor - 5589 M-36, Pinckney, MI 48169
The Smoke Doctor is one of the most popular barbecue restaurants in Pinckney and the surrounding area. You'll find all the usual barbecue meat plates and sandwiches here, including barbecued hot dogs that local diners rave about. Want to try something different? They also offer an all-day breakfast menu with dishes like sausage breakfast sandwiches and brisket breakfast bowls.

  • Block Brewing Company - 1140 S Michigan Avenue, Howell, MI 48843
Block Brewing Company may be a craft brewery first, but they're no slouches when it comes to barbecue either. Their ribs, pulled pork, and smoked turkey are all packed with saucy, slow-cooked flavor that's sure to leave you satisfied. Each plate comes with sides like fries, green beans, coleslaw, or mac and cheese, as well as a slice of fresh cornbread still warm from the oven. Add a pint of one of their signature craft beers for ultimate bar food bliss.

Barbecue season is just getting started, and Livingston County's restaurants will be serving up smoky goodness all summer long. Contact us today to find a nearby home where you can enjoy all the local barbecue food you could ever want – and maybe even make some of your own.
