One of Howell's more popular Halloween events is back and better than ever with the Legend of Sleepy Hollow 2024. Festivities kick off with games, crafts, food vendors, and other activities from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. There will also be trick-or-treating along Clinton, Court, and Church Streets. Afterward, get ready for the spookiest race ever with the Headless Horseman 5K, beginning at 6 p.m. "Monsters" is the costume theme for this event, scheduled for Saturday, 10/19. Entry fee for the race is $25-$35 and there is no admission for other events.

For nearly 40 years, Fantasy of Lights has been a holiday tradition for generations of Howell residents and families. This one-day event packs in plenty of shopping, entertainment, and seasonal activities, including the Fantasy 5K run and a visit with Santa. Take in live music from local choirs and musicians and don your holiday finery for the costume contest. The festival's highlight is the Fantasy of Lights parade, when beautifully lit floats and marching bands proceed down Grand River Avenue. This year's event is set for Friday, 10/29.
