For 25 years now, the Howell Courthouse lawn has played host to some of the best local, national, and even international acts in genres spanning rock, country, and classical. Admission is always free, and visitors of all ages are welcome. Drop by between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on scheduled dates to meet friends and enjoy it all!
You can catch the following events at "Concerts at the Courthouse" in the Howell Courthouse Amphitheater: 200 East Grand River, Howell, MI 48843. There will be a variety of terrific musical acts in July and August. Let's take a look at some of the highlights you can expect from this beloved annual concert series:
- Laurie and Rusty Wright – July 5
Laurie and Rusty Wright are a couple known for their guitar-driven classic rock, blues, and (of course) their own original compositions. Fresh from a tour that brought them all over Florida, they will visit Livingston County for July and kick off what's sure to be an eventful season for Concerts at the Courthouse.
- Sonic Freeway – July 12
Sonic Freeway is named after their acoustic journey through the ages that combines different songs and styles from multiple decades. With more than ten years of experience and 400 performances behind them, this is a band you won't want to miss. They are fresh from a tour of California and ready to make you smile!
- Leaky Tiki's – July 19
Leaky Tiki's is the Jimmy Buffet tribute show put on by the Paradise Band. Based right here in Michigan, this "all event" band is one of the most versatile around. Known for oldies, Motown, and classic rock, it is perhaps most celebrated for its curated Jimmy Buffet show featuring five experienced "parrot heads." Be ready to sing along!
- Lookin' Back – July 26
Lookin' Back bills itself as the #1 Bob Seger tribute band in Michigan, and you just might agree after you see them strut their stuff in Livingston County! With more than ten years performing together all around the U.S., Lookin' Back is anchored by lead singer David Newland. It was formed in the area with mostly Michigan locals.
- Rhythm Society Orchestra – August 2
Rhythm Society Orchestra will wow you as you get to enjoy the musical stylings of a 15-piece dance band that brings the authentic sound of vintage swing music right here to Livingston County. Based in Detroit, this band has wowed audiences all throughout the Midwest, and they can't wait to meet you soon!
- Magic Bus – August 9
Magic Bus is just the thing when you need someone to transport you back to the 1960s, that storied era of psychedelic music. A group of six multiple music award winners, Magic Bus, showcases the true sound of a period-authentic rock and roll roster that will have you tapping along to the music.

With "Just One More" Linda Ronstadt Tribute, you'll thrill to the beat with works from across Rondstadt's career presented by Linda Burris.
