  Offering an opportunity to break a sweat while helping to support a good cause, the Frosty Freestyle & Krazy Klassic Cross Country Ski Race is coming right up on January 13. This thrilling 5k, 12k, and 15k cross-country ski race will benefit Huron Meadows Metro Park, which will also serve as the location for the event. Huron Meadows Metro Park spans more than 1,500 acres and offers outdoor recreation in all seasons. All proceeds will go toward the park's skiing programs, including trail development, ski instructors, and rental equipment.

  Mark your calendar for January 19, 2024, when you'll have an opportunity to enjoy a memorable evening and an excellent meal in support of a great cause. Held at the Crystal Gardens Banquet Center, this year's SCSN Annual Winter Banquet helps support the mission of Second Chance Support Network, a local organization that helps support and mentor men and women who have been recently released from jail or prison.   On Thursday, January 11, the Brighton Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting Dinner & Soirée will be making its return, and all are welcome. Tickets are just $49 and include an elegant French peasant dinner, an open bar, and a bourbon-tasting station. The Brighton Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting Dinner & Soirée takes place from 5 to 7:30 pm and will be held at Tandale Nature Barn, a beautiful local wedding and event venue. Guests can also enter to win a stay in the Tandale Tree House.
