For the best experience, groups are limited to five people at a time. Follow the trail from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the weekends of October 13, 20, and 27. General admission is $30-$35, or go to the head of the line with a Speed Demon pass for $50. Save $5 on all tickets when you purchase online. The Howling is not recommended for ages 12 and under.

  • Legend of Sleepy Howell - Downtown Howell
Legend of Sleepy Howell puts a Midwestern spin on the iconic short story as downtown becomes the site of Livingston County's biggest outdoor trick-or-treating event. This year's theme, "Saturday Morning Cartoons," offers endless possibilities for fun and festive costumes. Kids can scoop up plenty of treats along Clinton, Court, and Church Streets. Afterward, the whole family can head over to State Street and the Howell Courthouse lawn for crafts, games, and food and drink vendors. Visit Sleepy Howell on Saturday, October 28 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Admission is free.

  • Headless Horseman 5K - Downtown Howell
What's the Legend of Sleepy Howell without the Headless Horseman 5K? Burn off all those candy calories with a fun run through Scofield City Park and Howell's historic neighborhoods. Be sure to wear a costume and bring Fido along to keep you company. The race opens with a rolling start between 6 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. so everyone has plenty of space. Hit the road on Saturday, October 28. The registration fee is $30.
