Livingston County is home to several pet-friendly hotels, including the local Homewood Suites, Best Western, and Candlewood Suites. Pets are allowed in select rooms at these establishments, and all of them charge a small extra fee for guests bringing animals with them. For the best experience, be sure to call your hotel in advance and let them know you are coming with your dog. - Off-Leash Dog Parks
Many dogs love having the freedom to run around without their leash on. Livingston County has two dog parks - EZ Dog Park and Countryside Veterinary Dog Park - where your dog can enjoy this type of experience. EZ Dog Park also includes a few additional features, such as a swimming pond and an agility course. You can spend the day walking along some of the many trails in this expanse of natural beauty or camp out in one of the many campgrounds available for rent. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required for entry, and you will need to keep your dog on a leash when you visit. If you and your dog love taking walks together, the Mike Levine Lakelands Trail State Park might be an even better setting for you. This 34-mile-long stretch of land offers plenty of space to take a long uninterrupted stroll as you bond with your dog. - Grooming, Kennelling, and Doggy Daycare Services
