The Doc May Bike Ride, Melon Ball dances, and Melon Roll are great family-friendly events, while evening entertainment includes dinner theater and trivia night. Other highlights of the festival are live music, games, craft sales, and the Howell Farmer's Market. Friends of the Library will be conducting a book sale during library hours. Break out your ten-gallon hat and cowboy boots for a rockin' Country Western Music Weekend at Taylor's Beach Campground. There will be horse and pony rides and a petting farm to go along with plenty of live music. Awards will be given to the best country outfits worn by adults, kids, and dogs. The boot-stompin' fun is scheduled for Saturday, August 21. There is a $39 entertainment fee in addition to standard camping rates.

Whether you're a classic rock fan or you just love good music, you won't want to miss Turn Up the Amp! at the Mill Pond Amphitheater, just minutes from Brighton homes for sale. Revival, a local tribute band, composed of A-list musicians, will perform songs from the iconic Allman Brothers Band. Showtime is 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7. It's not summer in Livingston County without the Great Lakes Region Swap Meet, now in its 47th year. More than 300 vendors are on hand with bargains on books, tools, arts and crafts, and antiques. Stop by while viewing Fowlerville homes for sale. The swap meet takes place on Saturday, August 28, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday, August 29, from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and up.
