Concerts at the Courthouse has been making music happen in Howell for 21 years. Join us August 2 on the lawn of the Courthouse from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a visit from Lookin' Back. Come early to get your spot to hear Lookin' Back perform rock legend Bob Seger's greatest hits. This is a free, family (and pet)-friendly venue featuring rock, folk, and blues entertainment Friday nights throughout the summer in Howell. - Rock the Block in Downtown Howell, Howell Downtown, 118 W. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, August 7 as Howell Main Street Inc. presents Rock the Block, a music and food festival series. The third event in the series, August's Rock the Block will feature live bands, food from local restaurants and food vendors, and beer brewed by local favorite, Aberrant Ales. Music begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. and is free to the public. Food from local restaurants and food trucks will be available for purchase at each music site. - Howell Melon Festival, 925 W. Grand River, Howell, MI 48843
Help us celebrate all things melon at the 59th Annual Howell Melon Festival presented by the Howell Area Parks and Recreation Department on August 16 - 18. There will be plenty of food, entertainment, and, of course, melons. Be a part of the Howell Melon 5K/10K Run on Friday evening beginning at 7:00 pm. See the Canine Stars Stunt shows on Saturday and Sunday. The Livingston Arts Council presents its 14th Annual Fine Arts Show as a part of this year's Howell Melon Festival on August 16 - 18. Paintings, jewelry, digital prints, photography and more will be on exhibit with all the displayed art available for purchase. Your children can create their own works of art at our "make-and-take" tables. You can contribute to two community murals. - The Last Ten Miles of Avery J. Say good-bye to summer at the Howell Carnegie Library Summer Extravaganza on Friday, August 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.A free event for the entire family, this event marks the end of the library's 2019 Summer Reading Challenge. Enjoy inflatable carnival activities, glitter tattoos, and a craft on the library lot in partnership with Howell Parks & Recreation as a kick-off to the Melon Festival.
