Brighton MI Parks and Outdoor Spaces
When you choose our team at Griffith Realty, you can rest assured our REALTORS® will never tell you to take a walk. Still, you might want to anyway: National Take a Walk in the Park Day is coming this Saturday, March 30.

And we have plenty of beautiful parks to enjoy!

When you want to experience the splendor southern Michigan has to offer; there's nothing like a day at the park. Not only is taking a walk good for your heart, but sunshine helps regulate the body's internal clock, making it easier to get to sleep at night.

Of course, we can't promise you'll feel like a whole new person after National Walk in the Park Day. What we can promise is that you'll have your choice of many splendid places to see all the nature Brighton and Milford have on display.

Here are our top picks for when it's time to take a walk in the park:

  1. Mill Pond Park, 424 Mill Pond Lane, Brighton
Mill Pond Park is a public recreation area centered around the eponymous pond, a cornerstone of public life in Brighton. Recently, the park underwent an extensive cleanup and shoreline beautification project that revitalized it. Now, locals enjoy spending time here and observing local waterfowl.

  2. Bishop Lake Campgrounds at Brighton State Recreation Area, 5210 Bishop Lake Rd, Brighton
Bishop Lake Campgrounds is a beloved part of Brighton State Recreation Area, a leading state park in Michigan. In addition to its many walking paths, the camping area is convenient to exciting watersports opportunities. Kayaks and rowboats can be rented right on site.

  3. Genoa Park, Genoa Business Park Drive, Brighton
Genoa Park has a 66-mile walking path perfect for making the most of Take a Walk in the Park day. Kids love this park, especially in the winter, when its sled hill is one of the most popular play zones in the community. It also features athletic fields and playgrounds.

  4. Huron Meadows Metropark, 8765 Hammel Road, Brighton
Huron Meadows Metropark is a picturesque 1,560-acre park that delivers the best of that classic "up north" feeling. There are plenty of hiking and walking paths along with a gorgeous oak forest. The paths are popular with cross-country and skate-skiers, too.

  5. Kensington Metropark, 2240 W Buno Rd, Milford
Kensington Metropark is known for some of the greatest educational programs for young park-goers. The whole family can have an unforgettable Take a Walk in the Park Day thanks to the recent expansion of the park's trail system. It's just one more way Metroparks are always getting better!

  6. Island Lake Recreation Area at Michigan State Park, 12950 Grand River Road, Brighton
Island Lake Recreation Area provides a lush 4,000 acres to meander and ramble through, a mix of open brush and mature hardwood forest. Its many pathways wend around open meadows and a swimming beach, among other treats. It houses the only balloon port in the state park system.
