Ski Local at Mt. Brighton Ski Resort

Brighton Ski Resort

It's been a little on the cold side lately in Brighton, Michigan--to say the least. One good thing about chilly weather is that it gives us a chance to get out and enjoy all the great winter sports opportunities in the area.

Many of our Brighton homes for sale are just a short drive from the area's best skiing and snowboard slopes. Mt. Brighton Ski Resort located just 5 minutes from downtown Brighton tops the list of favorite things to do in Brighton for many local families.

Mt. Brighton Ski Area

Mt. Brighton Ski Area opened its doors in 1960 and has been offering some of the region's best ski and snowboard slopes ever since. In a region where ski-worthy mountains are hard to come by, Mt. Brighton features man-made slopes and state of the art snowmaking technology, offering a fun challenge for beginners and experts alike.

Skiing Opportunities at Mt. Brighton

The Mt. Brighton Ski Area spans an area of 130 acres and includes 25 trails and slopes for every skill level. Whether you're just learning the ropes, or are an advanced skier looking for a new challenge, you'll find what you're looking for at Mt. Brighton. The ski area features five chairlifts and seven surface lifts and offers a vertical rise of 230 feet.

Be sure to check out beginner slopes like the Gopher, Snowshoe, and Larkspur, or head to the intermediate Ryan's Run, Gasoline Alley or Sawtooth Ridge. For more advanced skiers, the Golden Eagle, Osprey, and Big Riskey offer a suitable challenge, while the Challenge and Peak's Polly slopes are for experts only.

New Features at Mt. Brighton

This long-standing ski area received a major facelift in 2014, with improvements that include the addition of new chairlifts, advanced snowmaking technology, enhanced learning terrain, new base area facilities, and a children's ski and ride school center. Mt. Brighton also offers a new terrain park built by Snow Park Technologies (the builder and designer of Winter X Games courses and features) and top-notch food and drink at the Ore Creek Mountain Grill and the Ski Hill Grill.
